Creating More Visibility for Good Contents: My Steemit Vision

Steemit tops the list of social medias in all ramifications and I can confidently say that it is the best there is. But no matter how great something is, there is always a flaw and Steemit is no exception. After my short experience on Steemit which by the way has been wonderful, I've decided to come up with this content so as to suggest ideas which I think could be useful and may provide an insight on how to solve some of the problems that is facing the Steemit community.

This is going to be a series of post and even though I am not tech savvy, I hope a tech guru can create an idea out of this post and come up with something great that will benefit Steemians and make Steemit a better platform.

Steemit at the moment is filled with aggrieved Steemians who feel they're not been rewarded for their quality contents. In fact, the language of most low ranking Steemians right now is: "Good contents are usually buried within the first two minutes that they're created." While they are absolutely right as this is becoming a persistent problem facing the Steemit community, the question is, what really can be done to address this situation?

The honest truth is, the problem may seem too complicated to be solved because Steemit is a highly competitive platform and only the strongest are likely to survive. But regardless of this well known and indisputable fact, there are some things that can be done to create more visibility for a quality content.
I have outlined three suggestions which I think could be useful in order to get a post noticed. Even though these suggestions are not new, they are specific in nature and may make a difference compared to what Steemians are used to.
The suggestions are as follows:

1. Introducing content bots:

Bots are not new to Steemit as we have them in abundance. But a content bot, just as the name suggests, will be responsible for identifying great Steemit posts and re-posting at intervals. Take note of my use of word repost and not resteem. I understand there are some resteem bots, but in my opinion, they haven't been that effective in bringing great posts to the attention of Steemians. There are over fifty categories on Steemit and my suggestion is to have content bots for each of these categories. I understand a Steemian is not supposed to post an article twice, and that is where the content bot comes in. The responsibilities of these bots will be to identify great contents on each category and reposting it by the hour for a seventy- two hour period.

For instance, if a content bot that is responsible for posts in life's category identifies a good post, then it should be it's responsibility to create awareness for that post by reposting within the proposed duration.

The content bot will be programmed in such a way that it has the power of reposting an article, and by doing so it is authorized to use the posting key of the Steemian blogger in question. Invariably, a blogger cannot be penalized for getting a post reposted by a content bot.

Obviously, the use of such contents bots may result in lapses as reposting will not automatically guarantee upvoting. But the most important thing is, reposting an article will promote such post to a greater extent and also motivate Steemians to produce more quality contents that will benefit the community.

2.Creating investment bots:

Just like the name implies, an investment bot in this regards will have a significant amount of delegated Steem Power that will be used to upvote quality contents. It is called investment bot in the sense that a Steemian with a great content will be expected to part with a certain amount of SBD and in return gets a good percentage in upvote.

The investment bot will be programmed in such a way that if a post does not meet the criteria for a quality content, then it doesn't get an upvote. The bot will operate on a schedule and it will only cater for a specific number of post within a given period.
While an investment bot will promote quality contents, it will also create an avenue that will attract more content creators who are yet to sign up on Steemit.

3.Bid bots reforms:

The use of bid bots to promote articles on Steemit is becoming more rampant by the day. While I would like to applaud these bid bots for their efforts in creating more visibility for a post, I think there are ways a bid bot can add more value to the community by reforming some of it's rules.

I think it would be nice if a bid bot can put a specific specific limit to the number of bidders for a voting round. For instance, if buildawhale or post promoter bid bots decide to accept just five bidders for a voting round, this means that it is offering bidders the chance to get more visibility for their posts. Less bidders, means higher percentage in upvote and higher chances of getting upvoted by Steemians since most Steemians tend to upvote posts that have already made a significant amount of money.

Even though they are called bid bots and this suggestion may be out of place, I think a few modifications in their mode of operations wouldn't hurt.

Finally, I would like to encourage all Steemians to cultivate the habit of reading contents so they can pick something out of it. The truth is, most posts on Steemit don't get rewarded because a greater number of Steemians are not reading them, but are more concerned about the dollar amount that a post has generated so they can align with that post.
If we want a better Steemit, then we should strive to be great Steemians by doing what will benefit the community in the long run. #mayibtalks
