Taking what I know about programming into life

in #blog6 years ago

Have you ever stop to think about what you are doing good and what you have done bad?

It is normal to make mistakes and that is built within our human nature but how you react and face them is what make us different from other species.

I've been thinking on how to see everyone decisions in life and relate them to programming. I've seen many extreme programming individuals, that means they cannot do their things alone they need some other people surrounding them to feel good. There are also some anti-patterns people, those are the ones you want not to follow because it is widely known that they might get in trouble some day or end up being rewritten.

So, what should you focus on?

Do you think good things happen overnight? I don't think so. I believe when you are going to write a new software solution you pretty much decide which technology stack fits better and also you leverage your knowledge as you go. You can also reuse what you have learnt from the past experiences and you try to avoid previous mistakes. So why are not able to apply those concepts to real life situations. We should really think of life like an endless life cycle with lots of sprints or stages, each one is different but we can also do a retrospective to see what went right and what went wrong, create action plan to improve our weakness and keep doing what was right. And if you manage to do that frequently you will master the flow and embrace change as part of life.

I'm been through though moments, but I'm now in great moments.

I've been there, I've lost loved ones, took damage for certain situations, lost friends, relationships, money, courses or what ever you might think of. I've also get over those situations and each time a cycle has been close another one might be harder or way better improving our expectations about life. I'm not saying I am an expert I'm just saying that nowadays I try to enjoy every moment and I also try to learn from more experience persons.
Everyone has a different goal in life and depending on what they consider is priority correlates to the actions they will take along the way. Some will pursue money, some others health or beauty, some others will pursue status or being accepted in a closed circle, some others will find themselves to realized that they need to grow as a human being, some others would like to help people, some will build a family and some will pursue few of the previous goals.
Until here everything sounds great but most will not accept the results of their actions or decisions.

How does it relates to programming?

There are many recipes and patterns, tech stacks, programming languages etc. Once you start building up your software you have to cope with the decisions previously taken, you have to improve as every sprint progresses and you should try to improve along the way. There is no perfect solution nor magical recipe to achieve your goals. I always like to say that when you are following someone else recipe is just part of a checklist of that person, like being a best-seller with a 'write a book and become millionaire' scheme. You should be aware of that and listen to everyone else recipe but just use what you think will help you and adapt the recipe to your taste. Your project is different, the tech stack you have is different and what you are doing depends on what you chosen for programming language, patterns to follow and the former need.

Nicely written and so true! I like how you draw from your life lessons and relate them to lessons in programming. From a trading perspective, there is no magical system, trading bot, or indicator that will make you successful (however you define it). I learned the hard way that YOU are the secret weapon, and yes, while there are some fundamentals to learn, it's your relationship to risk management, trade planning, and discipline that no one but you can learn. Your post today helps to re-ignite my passion for trading, so Thank You for that!

I'm glad that this post inspired you and can't wait to see your trading analysis coming to steemit soon.

Very true, we all have to find our own magical recipe. But magical it is!

That is absolutely amazing :D yep the magical recipe will just work with our magic soul :P
