Rothco Jungle Boots
These are the boots I use for airsoft. While an anachronism for sure, most people can't tell that these don't go with an M56 field jacket and related gear for an early Vietnam era setup. These are pretty close and have some great features, but aren't perfect.
The good
Cost effective: really solid repos for around $60 is great.
Variety: These come in OD green, black, and desert tan and in standard and speedlace versions of every color.
Compact: The uppers on these do not have anything stiff in them so they can practically be rolled up and stuffed in a bag in a small package. Most other similar boots are bulky and take up too much room.
The Bad
Laces: they are pretty cheap and are wearing through pretty fast already. They are also kinda slippery and can come undone if you don't double knot them
Stitching: The stitching on the upper is rough enough to irritate your skin if you don't have something like a hiking sock under it. The seam on the lower is really rough too, so you absolutely must have hiking socks
Fit: These are really narrow and I have wide feet. I solved this by doubling up on socks, but for some that might not work.
