This hydration carrier is made by Camelbak for military and police contracts primarily, but can be purchased by anyone. There are plenty of features I like about this, but it isn’t perfect

The Good

• MOLLE webbing on the back to attach all sorts of pouches or external doodads. The webbing is lightweight and low profile as compared to most out there. Neato

• Hydration Tube. This is different from other camelbak products because the tube is covered in a protective layer and can also detach directly from the pouch, and the nozzle can come off with a button press as well.

• Storage. The pack has room for about the size of a large laptop plus a bit more in the medium sized compartment. Remove the hydration system and you have a compact backpack.

The Bad

• Cleaning. The camelbak system needs frequent cleaning and should only be used with water. This pack does not come with any cleaning kit, which is also a bummer

• Hydration Tube. Because of the outer layer, the tube is really stiff and hard to maneuver into a really good place without some convincing.

• Pouch. This uses the military style “antidote” pouch instead of the civvy style pouch and fixtures. Replacements may be difficult to acquire from a store.
