I’m embarrassed to admit that when I was a teenager growing up in a troubled household, I thought socialism was a better system than capitalism as well.

Then in my home province around 1992, a socialist party won our provincial election, and managed to stay in power for about a decade. It was a hard life lesson. I found out just how destructive socialism really is. I had to move away from my home province because of it, and still to this day, I still haven’t returned, even though most of my family still lives there.
