China's Xinjiang Region Here the people of China's Muslim Uighur community live mainly. Over the past few years, the Chinese Communist government has imposed a ban on fasting in this region. On the official website of China, it is said that all food and drink shops, including hotels, restaurants, will be kept open during Ramadan.
It is known that the restriction will remain in the month of Ramadan this year.
Therefore, Muslims can not fast this year.
Authorities say that government employees, school-colleges and university students and teachers can not fast. Muslim owners have been ordered to keep the meal open in the hotel.
The guidelines were issued on Thursday in Chinese government websites.
Uighur's human rights organizations said that the ban will increase racial tension.
In the past few years, hundreds of people have died in ethnic riots in the region.
