It's BEER time!

As I promised about 2 weeks ago here is another review...

BUD LIGHT ORANGE

I'm sorry everyone. I have been down in the dumps the last few weeks and lost my motivation for writing and/or photography during this time. I think I may have shaken some of my distress as I learned of some extremely good news that has erased some of my stress (I will post more of my personal life and some issues I have been facing soon). So, I am feeling a lot better and well enough to write a long overdue beer review!

Bud Light Orange. This is one of a line of new citrus/fruit flavored "beers" in the same genre as Bud Light Lime, Michelob Ultra Lime Cactus, and Leinenkugel's shandys. Bud Light Orange is crisp, lightly carbonated, and definitely orange-tasting.

This beer first caught my eye a few weeks back and I knew I had to write a Steemit blog review! It practically jumped out of the beer cooler at my local grocer (they happen to have an excellent beer selection). I have only seen them sold in 6 pack glass bottles here although I have read other reviews online that said they were sold in 25 ounce single cans. The price is just a tad over what you could expect to pay for a 6 pack of Bud Light. As I brought this choice to the checkout lane the cashier asked me if this really tastes like oranges. Having had it before and not trying to stay and chat for long I just told here that if you think Bug Light Lime tastes like limes, then this would taste like oranges.

The glass bottles are twist tops that are just as easy to twist off as could be wished for. I poured the contents into an American pint glass at an angle and lifted back to vertical for the last 3-4 ounces of the bottle and had a respectable 1/2-5/8 inch off-white colored head that vanished quite quickly. There is an orange Gatorade-like-smell that is immediately noticeable. It is not quite a bad smell but not exactly what I look for when drinking a light lager. At first taste there is a slight citrus-hop followed by a carbonated crisp. There is an aftertaste that lingers like a film on your tongue which is unfavorable. At 142 calories per 12 ounce serving this is not a beer that I would drink all night long as I can also taste a lot of bread and barely.

In conclusion, Bud Light Orange is a beer that is crisp, citrusy, fresh, and surprisingly heavy. There is a strange filmy aftertaste that is not ideal. I personally would not be buying this beer again but if I am at your party and it is the only thing there, I could manage.

Until next time, my friends. I think I have another whiskey worth writing about in my freezer.....
