So before I start, I just want to clear one thing. Purpose of this text is to initiate a discussion or provide thinking fuel for the ones that don't want to be an active part of the discussion. In either way you should take time reading this.

"Seek knowledge from cradle to grave" Ancient Arabic proverb.

We are brought into this world with no knowledge whatsoever. The first gasp of air a newborn baby takes is crucial for its survival and it sometimes takes a slap from a doctor to stimulate it. We learn to breathe, then we learn to eat, after six months we learn to sit without support. Six more need to pass before we learn to walk and 2 years to finally talk to our parents. Now we start to grasp life, there are new things to learn, places to run to. We have friends to meet and foods to eat. Learning new words and skills we grow stronger each day until it is time to go to school and it is at that point we get to experience a hint of independence for the first time. We experience good and bad, happiness and sometimes sorrow. We learn how to deal with some of the bad things that happen to us. And with some, we learn to live with. We shape our selves, intentionally or subconsciously. With help of others or on our own. We learn about the world so vast and wonderful and we imagine all the places we would visit. We learn about love and we learn about letting go. All the experience and knowledge gained so far is so complex and dense that no other life form is able to even comprehend it in such a way. And yet for a human, it is just a beginning.

No other species is capable of learning in a way humans do. And just how important is that for us? If you would to put a naked man, raised to hunt only with his hands in a battle against almost any other beast, he would either die or come out victorious with wounds that would be the end of him. A man in history only survived thanks to his ability to learn and will to be taught. Older generation teaches the younger one, and so they are at the advantage of not having to invent or learn something all over again. Learning is what we do, knowledge is our greatest weapon. We use the power of our brains to rule the world we live in. Our sole purpose should be to seek knowledge and learn. It should be to innovate and expand. Even religious holly tests speak of this and praise people for learning and seeking knowledge.

Have you ever wondered how do we know the things we know now? It is a pretty interesting question if you think about it. And it really depends on each and every individual but mostly these days we tend to learn from TV and internet. More serious studies require books and notes. Some topics require exercises for the brain to fully adopt the idea. And in other cases, casual conversation can be a source of new information. But that is not the only way we learn, sometimes we learn from our subconscious mind by just daydreaming, meditating or procrastinating. The things we perceived, we heard and experienced are sometimes overwhelming for us to consume all at once, so they get stuck in our subconsciousness. Sometimes those things are not of greater meaning, but sometimes they can be the cause of the feelings we have towards something. It is amazing that human mind continues to learn even when we think we are not. This is why it is important to surround your self with people you can learn from and topics you can benefit of. Pages you liked on facebook and people you follow on Instagram or twitter and steemit might have more impact on your life than you think. Don't let your mind be fed by the people who don't care about your well being. Pay attention to what you are watching and listening. Learning false life values and bad habits can be destructive for society and not just your self. We have to internalize that our actions, oh how meaningless they seemed still leave an impact, on our children, friends, siblings, and neighbors. We are far from being just another brick in the wall.We are like a cell in a human body. Just like human cells are forming something far greater and magnificent when they function properly, they can also spread cancer and become the demise of it in a long run.

I'm not saying we should bury our heads in the books, I'm simply implying we should explore and bring innovations to our lives. The hard study is not the only way of acquiring knowledge. We should try something new every day. We should read something new every day. There should be a time and place in your daily life to sit and think about... well you. And your life, and your decisions and the things you love and hate. Buy your self an ice cream, get your self your favorite chocolate. Do whatever you must do, to bribe your self to learn. Even if you are learning something plain and simple, you are still expanding your horizon's. You don't have to become next Elon Musk to change the world. If you can tell one person something they didn't know before today, you have made a single step towards something greater.

That last picture is from my hometown Bihać in Bosnia and Herzegowina, this is how every Friday and Saturday evening looked like 20-15 years ago. This is not a line leading to some popular club, its just bunch of people standing next to each other talking and having fun.

Very good post. We have alot of tools to learn with these days, and we should utilize them wisely. Knowledge is the ultimate form of power.

I'm always glad when I get some feedback and even more so when it is positive.

Well said, indeed Knowledge is the ultimate form of power,
Humans are heavily prone to misusing it a lot

I'm running with "... bribe yourself to learn"
