Weekend: Mancave time
Lat friday all the timber was delivered for our "mancave" , it will be a ski-hut kind of building where we can have a bbq, watch soccer with friends or a nice place for our kids to hang out with friends.
I was impressed by the amount of timber needed, when they brought it by truck the new neigbours were already looking on what we were going to do 😂
First we dugged the holes for the poles. They had to be aprox a meter deep. The poles are 15cmX15cm so they are quiet big :)
When the wholes were finished it looked like if we were visited by huge moles :)
After the digging we placed the first poles and the all had to be on the same level, it was quiet some work in the beginning but after a while I got handy with it, and the friend who helped me (or better said I helped him) is a experienced carpenter / constructor.
Everytime a pole was set we finished the whole wit a bag of concrete and a bucket water. so that the poles are really locked in the ground.
At the end of the day all poles were placed and the construction is ready to for the roofconstruction. We will continue with that next monday evening
As you can see it will be a huge construction :) The measures are 10mx4m of which 6x4m is for the ski hut and 4x4 for a hooded terras... Can't wait to continue building :)

Good progress for a day, that'll be a nice space once it's up!
It will be for sure :) Can't wait !! :) today we reached the top for the left part. Tomorrow we are going to build the right side to the top, after that the roof can be placed :)
It looks nice up there. A log cabin would have been easier or?

Perhaps it would have been easier indeed, but my friend builds this one from scratch and from very durable wood. it think the result will be so much better then a log cabin :) You will see when it is finished :)
Looking forward to it. It will be at least more personal.

This is a fascinating and useful occupation. Wood is the best material for such construction. Good luck, Peter

We had a fire and a country house burned down and we are building a new one from a wooden bar. I will write about it later, maybe.
That is going to be pretty impressive when you are all done. Very nice! Now I am starting to think about a new shed for my house!
I never seen or carried such a big beams before :) It is going to be huge :)
