Correct me if I'm wrong, but that sounds like just a crypto miner, except we both donate a share to the devs and a share to the project we are forced to help, by default. However, it's also easy enough so people withut technical knowledge can join without understanding the eletrical costs implications, specially when that is disguised as "unused computer resources".
