Book-Review: The Domestication Of Munachi.

The Domestication of munachi is a story about a girl who ran away on the day of her traditional marriage, because she felt wasn't ready and prepared for marriage.

Her mum had to lie to her inlaws that she was kidnapped because that seems to be the best option to her to avoid disgrace.
Munachi travelled to her aunt's place in Lagos to stay, to her it was the best place for her.
On the other hand Adanna, Munachi's sister who was in an unhappy marriage, was going through violence and abuse from her husband and she couldn't go back to her father's house. Her mum said it would be a shame for a married woman to return to her father's house while her husband is still alive. Adanna's only shoulder was her sister, Munachi but she told her not to tell her mum.
Chimuanya, Munachi's aunt who was unmarried and wasn't bothered about it, told Munachi the only way for her to survive and wipe away the shame she brought to her family is for her to make money before going back. And to do that she had to sleep with men who her aunt considered that it as play with men who live to help young girls.
Munachi at first didn't succumb to what her aunt wanted her to do and she received insult for that.
She met with Mrs Nkoli, one of her aunt's friend who told her the story of her life and how she got were she is now.
Munachi later gave in to become the lady her aunt wanted her to be. She went out with a married man who promised to take very good care of her. Things then turned around when she discovered the man she had been going out with was Mrs Nkoli husband. Events were put together and everything came down splitting out, leading to disaster.
At the end she was back at her father's house were she met her sister who told her the stories of her life.

The story made me angry with what the ladies had to go through all because of marriage.
It reminds me that someone can be happily unmarried and live a life of comfort than been in a marriage that would ruin your life and you won't be happy.
On the case of Adanna I was melancholy how she gave up her career just to get married first and on other hand I was mad at her for been to calm and let things slid.
