As i am walking along the cliff face of this beach i come across this huge sandstone boulder with a commemorative plaque screwed into this huge boulder sitting on top of the cliff side and it made me wonder how did this huge boulder came to be here , well the story is in May 26th 1974 people of Sydney were not so lucky.

On this day May 26th 1974 , Sydney was hit with a record breaking storm which lashed Sydney leaving thousands of homes without power and sent emergency crews on many rescue missions.

During the event of this powerful storm not only roofs were getting blown of houses also the sand was getting blown off the beach covering all the roads, walkways and car parks it was like you were walking on these great big sand dune's, people were saying never seen anything like it ever.

Now when i saw this huge sandstone boulder sitting there well i didn't think much of it till i read the plaque on this boulder then the story was revealed it definitely took me by surprise can you can image the power of this storm it had lifted this 30 tonne sandstone boulder and rolled it about 15 meters from it's previous position. Now that is incredibly powerful scary mother nature.
