Kärkevagge valley and the lake Trollsjön

Rissajaure, also called Trollsjön, is a lake in the Kärkevagge valley in Kiruna Municipality, Sweden. It is the clearest and purest lake in Sweden and has a visual depth of 34 m, right down to the bottom. It is composed of meltwater from the surrounding glaciers. The lake is ice-covered well into the summer and is only ice-free for three months. We did the hike 15. juli and it was still ice on the water. The trail goes through the valley and lots of rocks i scattered around, some of them can with a little imagination looks like trolls.
In the middle of juli it was still quite much snow innward the valley. You can also see there are lots of rocks.

A "frozen" giant.
The ice covered lake. The bottom of the valley is narrow and lay away/in shadow from the sun during the day. Probably the reason for long lasting ice.
On the way back we where lucky to see a little pack of reindeers. Nero had to ask them keeping away :-)
The trail and parking lane is located near the lake You can see in the distance.

What magnificent rocks! Hiking there must be quite wonderful and seeing a herd of reindeer would absolutely make it the best hike ever!
Hello @melinda010100 and sorry for late respond. It is a very nice hike. On another hike I did earlier there was rain and fog. Then the landscape and stones got mysterious view with imaginary trolls in the mist. It is fun when lucky to see birds.and animals. I see you have lots of great pictures of birds and animals. They are fun to observe.

Beautiful scenery. Similar to @irvet post today. I hope to venture that far north in the future. Frozen Giant is a cool looking formation. Thanks for posting with the bouldersunday otherwise I probably wouldn't have seen this post.

Wow that is a very huge boulder towering over the others!!
The fifth photo from top looks like the rocks were
sliced right off along the horizon! Must be something
to see such clear water. Wonderful to also see the reindeer!
