Boulders in the town
It is #bouldersunday created by @shasta and I here it is another boulder that is placed in the cenrer of the town of Varna.
And another.
I was trying to figure out why those boulders sit in places like that. Llike the ones from my previous post Boulder Sunday there is no particular reason. I was thinking they might be related to what was discovered from the ancient Roman city - section of street from 2 - 3 cenrury AD. This secton is covered with glass dome.
The reflections from the surrounding buildings made it hard to present a decent photo.
However the boulders scattered around the city center have nothing to do with the remains from the Roman city. The idea of the municipality was to use them for some kind of street decoration.

It was interesting to find out and probably people passing by everyday will not notice them.
That's interesting, we have no boulders in the town, except maybe at the riverbank. It's nice though.
Usually we expect them to be used for something not just to be placed for decoration. But it makes the town different.

Fascinating indeed @nelioeva You wouldn't want to stub your toe on those big boulders. (lol) The stone features must create quite a lot of interest.
Frankly I think they were interesting when first placed and after that they are forgotten. But I can be wrong. Tourists coming for the first time may find them interesting.
The same thing happens in all cities I think Neli. When a feature is no longer new, it blends in with everything else but I'm sure visitors would soak up the history and information with pleasure.
Well if they were chosen to add decoration to the city sidewalks they have accomplished what they set out to do! Boulders do add beauty!

Varna looks quite different now compared to the time I visited the city within my great September vacation last year. In positive aspect, of course :)

It is intriguing why they are there, but make for cool shots
I hardly noticed them before. Now everything is interesting and raising curiousity.
thats the cool thing of walking around taking photos we notice so many things that many miss, which is always fun
