Honestly, I think most of them are too fucking stupid to know any better.
Maybe they haven't sufficiently been educated about what Nazis really were. Maybe they don't really know what a nationalist is really. Maybe they're just using it because it's so controversial and shocking.
I can understand why people call some people who are possibly white nationalists Nazis...because it's easier and it draws an analogy to possibly convey how fucking disgusting they are. But...you can't just call anyone a Nazi, unless it's in a specific way that's sort of humorous. Like "grammar Nazi", which everyone knows has nothing to do with being a Nazi, but is just a humorous exaggerated name for someone that corrects grammar.
But, we're already in this world where idiots call anyone a Nazi that they dislike because there's some kind of comparison they can draw, and I don't think we can turn back now.
