Curation Digest Issue #4: Part II

in #buildawhale7 years ago

From more visual-based to text-based content, the @buildawhale team is here to to maximize value for every Steemian and provide as many perspectives as possible. We understand everyone learns and reads differently. So why would we post every post in the same format.

That is why we are bringing every issue of Curation Digest to Steemians in two parts.

Curation Digest.jpg

Part I is more visually based and includes Knowledge Nuggets about each nomination driving interest for the nominated posts and stimulating conversation.

Part II is then posted later in that same 24 hour window with a more text-based review comprehensively analyzing the @buildwhale nominations.

Our goal with this is to maximize awareness, recognition, and rewards for the curated authors because they will now have a 24 hour exposure window.

Normally posts appear in your feed and then move on. This way by having two parts we can keep the nominated authors content in the conversation for more time giving them more opportunity for recognition and rewards. Let's dive on it :)

The first epic @buildawhale nomination is @awaketolife's amazing life post titled: "My Life's Journey - Unexpected gift on the horizon."

DQmWA1QfpfSPgGnJvVQUBo4ZK7GvpcocuAFu9A4Q4gsrFbR_1680x8400.jpg

Life is all about synchronicities and man you nailed it with this post.

Not only do you share the intimate details of your life story, but also intertwine the most epic photos into it. What a legendary post to teach us that the Universe is the best artist.

The @buildawhale Curation Team loved the little details of your story and don't worry we know you are a good driver ;)

It really is the little details that add up to an amazing story. Add to that the most beautiful images the Universe can paint and holy smokes you have a recipe for an ideal Steemian post.

We just wish there were more of them.

No doubt the images you share are some of the best we have seen. But the way you tell your story holy smokes would it been cool to see pictures of your drive.

How cool would it of been to see a picture of your hometown when you left and then a picture of Kastela when you arrived. It would have added such value and would have really taken this post to the next level.

By the way, we absolutely love your tag: mylifesjourney. Keep doing great things @awakentolife. Namaste.

The second @buildawhale Nomination for this Issue of Curation Digest is@lindahas's incredible life post titled: "Somebody in your life."

DQmVSpyr4auWsHReVcAgBVYs2bLssEgR9srDzptWkb8nWDd_1680x8400.jpg

I’m going to start with my constructive criticism, but PROMISE me you’ll read what comes after, I hope you’ll like what I say.

I’d ask someone to proofread your next piece before you post… or edit it after you’ve posted. You have some spelling errors and mistakes that are a little distracting. I don’t want to spell ‘dinners’ for you in my head while I’m trying to get into your story, you know what I mean?

Having said that…

What a lovely time I had reading this piece. Written simply and with heartfelt emotion, I found myself captivated by your words and by the thoughts behind your words.

For instance;

“But as things usually turn out, reality doesn't always reach expectations, and sometimes we don't even know what is better for us.”

If you’re past the age of 11, you probably realize this on some level. That what we think we want, even sometimes things that we are ABSOLUTELY certain we want, turn out to be not ‘the thing’ we wanted them to be.

I love that I witnessed your journey from focusing on what YOU want to understanding that you have responsibilities to your partner, as well.

“Because we are all human and we all have need for basic human contact, for love and acceptance.”

You write the truth in a way that is accessible and heartfelt. You write with a warmth and authenticity that is admirable.

Thank you for sharing such an intimate piece of yourself. All of our best to you and yours.

@surfdog's amazing life photo travel post titled: "Vietnam Trip 2016-9-Pictures of the Second day at Lak Lake" is the third nominated piece of content in today's Curation Digest.

Here’s the very first thing that got my attention when reading your piece;

“Finally I could pay back a bit for all the times somebody did drive me to the airport, bus station or train station.”

I love this statement with every piece of my being. To have been blessed enough to receive help from others and understanding that you had an obligation to pay that debt back and then FURTHER to accept that opportunity when it was presented to you says a great deal about your soul, my friend.

I feel like I understood even more about your soul from your beautiful pictures. My favorite:

I would never be so arrogant as to call myself a photographer, however, I LOVE this genre. This picture is well balanced, a classic example of the ⅔ - ⅓ aspect ratio. I love how you’ve caught the farmer in repose, simply going about his business, while his buffalo is surely checking you out!

Thank you, @surfdog, for sharing a little bit of your soul with us. Good luck on your journey through this life, I hope to catch up with you again!

The fourth nomination is @vandigital's epic post titled: "that Time My Friend Caught Me Riding A Whale During the Full Moon."

DQmZmRX8YVWECGFpTG6CbmcdKYwsAxwir7nXsSEgcgu2G81_1680x8400.jpg

I love this so much I just can’t EVEN. Orcas are my JAM and the fact you write, “This is what you call @buildawhale!” I mean. Come on, it’s EPIC my friend!

I tried to take a step back from simply automatically LOVING it and figure out what I like so much… other than the Orcas, lol.

The title of course makes me want to read what the hell you’re talking about.

It really is the combination of things you have going on in the short space you use… the graphic is fucking epic, I can’t wait to hear your single, you’re funny and interesting and I can’t wait to own one of these shirts! (size large, I prefer a nice deep v-neck, can you dig? lol)

Last, but certainly not least is @trumpan's epic science post titled: "Ampulex compressa: The Wasp that Enslaves Cockroaches with a Sting."

U5drE5fJfZg94jzKbLMLeWJMZYo8Rru_1680x8400 (1).jpg

This is one of the best science posts the @buildawhale Curation Team has seen.

Are you kidding me @trumpman?

You so masterfully weave the most epic pictures, legendary knowledge, and a fun, unique writing style to create an all around top notch piece of Steemit content.

We really don't know how much better a science post can get than this.

The images are positioned ideally and reinforce the knowledge you share in a way that keeps the reader flowing through your content. And that the way you write man.

Holy smokes its legendary.

How did you learn how to write like this? Are you teaching a course on Steemit soon? Because we would all love to learn from you.

It is usually so hard to get people to read science-related posts because of numerous factors. But you didn't let that stop you. You absolutely dominated this content and we feel so blessed it was nominated or we might not ever have seen it.

Thanks again for making us smarter :)

This concludes Issue 3: Part II of Curation Digest.

For Part I go here: https://steemit.com/buildawhale/@buildawhale/curation-digest-issue-4

We hope that this analysis will provide the maximum value to the authors and the Steemit community.

It is our goal to provide Steemians the maximum value and a two part analysis is just the beginning for @buildawhale. Concentrations like music, crypto, and productivity will have their own "daily digests" of relative content to really make sure we maximize value for every Steemian on this platform.

The @buildawhale Curation Team has so many epic pieces of content to choose from so its only right we expand the value we provide to the community. After all:

"Teamwork makes the dream work."

Thank you guys for such amazing promotion of my post. You guys are amazing. This means a lot. Especially, since I just joined Steemit two weeks ago. It gives me the motivation to keep going and writing even better posts and investing, even more, time in Steemit altogether. Even add the pictures of me leaving my hometown and the arriving in Kastela. I wanted to actually. Especially on the return home, but we arrived late and missed the sunset. The picture in the dark would just not cut it for me.

Again thank you guys for such an amazing exposure post. Keep it up. I love it. I am sure many users would agree with me. :)

P.S thank you for the vote of confidence on my driving skills. :) lol

Ayyyyy wow thank you so much for these words :)

Can't wait to see what you come up with. Your life sounds so amazing and interesting so please share :)

And isn't that funny how the Universe work, such mysterious and amazing ways :)

P.S. you're welcome ;)

You are more than welcome. You deserve every word of praise. :)

You are definitely not kidding. It becomes illogical not too believe :)

Great! Thank you very much. I remember the day like it was today. A very hot day and I got a lot from couchsurfing and when you travel it happens all the time. Strangers open the heart, wallet or home or all of it. So every time I get a opportunity - I have to grab it!
I am sure it is a karma thing as well :-)

Heck yeah that's freakin amazing.

I love how amazing and mysterious the Universe works.

Man you inspired me so much to travel more. I need to see the stuff you are seeing.

Thanks again for all you do. Keep doing great things :)

Much thought is given to the title's chosen.. Orcas are definitely awesome! But I really need to shout out the artist who created the dope works he's NesTwo from Malaysia and I'm hoping to get him on steemit soon! T-Shirts will be made available soon!!!

Ay heck yeah rightttttt freakin epic.

But maybe this is the push he needs to get on ;)

You make me blush. I never considered my writing to be anything special. I just try to write the same way I think and talk with a bit of proof reading later. :D

Thanks again for your good words. An upvote and a resteem is all a man can do to show his appreciation.... And maybe send a bot to upvote this later 😂😂😂😂

Ayyy your words are enough my brother. Really appreciate your words.
