Money Tips: How You Can Reduce Your Spending
It is very common to find things appeasing to our eyes everyday. It is said that "what the appeals to the eyes, the heart desires". But if you continue buying all your heart desires, your savings will suffer. Spending more, increases expenses too.
Before going out, plan your activities. Do not carry your wallet or purse everywhere. When I'm taking a walk, I take just the money that is needed. This way the money is not there to be easily taken.
It's not every time you should hit the club or get eat-in meals with your friends or family. You could invite them over to your home and enjoy home-cook meals instead. You can host a get-together, this is really fun. In my family, we organise family get-togethers four times every year. The venue changes every time, from one extended family member home to another's. If you really want to go out with your friends, you can consider visit a beach or going for sightseeing. That can really be fun, other less expensive entertainment can be considered.

Writing a list when going for shopping. This is something my dad though me right from childhood. When I'm going, I usually know what I'm going to buy. If I find something appealing not on my list, I ask myself "Is this a need or a want?" If it is needed I get it, if it is a want I use the 30-day rule.

I heard about the 30-day rule sometime ago. The 30-day rule is all about waiting till 30 days before you get something you want. Sometimes after waiting for 30 days, you realise that you do not really need what you wanted to buy.This works in reducing spending.

To spend less, when you want to buy something, get the original. This might sound funny, (Oh yeah? :-)) because the original is usually more expensive than fakes. But original usually lasts longer than the fakes. A fake my be 3/4 the price of the original. But the duration of the product may be 1/2 that of the original. That is to show you how important it is to get original stuffs. Look beyond beauty too, what should ask yourself is "How long is this going to last?" Look out for durability.
Having at least one frugal friend would be nice. A frugal friend is someone who is simple and plain, and also careful about his/her spending. My elder brother is my frugal friend. When we are out together or travelling together, he helps me control my spending. This is very beneficial. It's not ideal all your friends should be "spend-finish" kind of friends. Friends that always want you to spend, this will make your savings sad :(
