When it comes to building an online presence for your business, it is important to start by getting recognized in local searches, which would indicate that your business is recognized and patronized by the people closest to it. With that, you can work your way up to the top to reach even wider audiences and customers.

The problem with this is that not everyone trying to build an online business presence are SEO geniuses and it seems complicated and intimidating to get started in the first place. With that, they tend to do it all wrong and miss an important and basic aspect of SEO: Link-building.

• Use the right keywords for your contents. You can do this by first conducting a keyword search to be informed on the kind of questions people ask about things related to your business.

• Build quality contents around those keywords. This is a great SEO tip you want to follow.

• Do local promotions to get people talking about your business and ultimately, your website, on social media.

• Get the attention of social media influencers on your business. When influencers with a large number of followers talk about your business, it will get your website more impressions and traffic, which translates to more popularity.

• Blog on other top websites and place backlinks to your website. You can use top-rated sites such as Medium.com or Steemit.com to achieve that. These websites get more than 3 million views a day. Since bidbots are presently allowable by code on steemit, you can achieve more traffic on your site by boosting your post to the trending page for a few bucks. Considering Steemit.com's Alexa/overall Google ranking, this is effective will cost way less than employing an SEO expert.
