Busy but Productive Weekend

My good friend Mike and I went out on Saturday to take a look at a used truck I had found online. If you don't remember my old truck that I have written several posts about had a cylinder that was misfiring. Given the age of that truck and the existing rust damage to the bed I decided it wouldn't be worth putting any more money into it.

This was the first truck we test drove that day and after we looked it over very meticulously I decided to make an offer on it. They didn't accept my first offer, but after going back and forth a couple of times we agreed to a price. I feel like I got a really great deal on this used truck and given it is only three years old with 78000 miles on it, I think I am going to be really happy with it.

Now I get to start the fun part... making the monthly payment on it! Blech!

The important thing is that now @mrsbozz, Jovi, and I have a safe truck to tow our trailer with on all of our camping trips this Summer.

Quite the change from the first car I ever owned. I found this picture on the Internet. The Oldsmobile wasn't a very spectacular or fancy car in its 80's iteration. It used was my grandma's then it was passed down to my sister and then finally me. It got me where I needed it to go and I think I only broke down once or twice while we owed it. Thanks to @verhp11 for taking me back down memory lane. Given time I would have scanned in one of my own pictures of the car I owned. This random shot from a strangers flickr album will have to do though. I think mine was even this same color. My rims weren't as fancy though!

I'd like to thank @daan for directing me to SteemSlotGames. Here is the referral url for @mrsbozz's account.

Most online gambling games are restricted to dice though some are starting to branch out more into games like Crash and things like that. @dann actually just did a review on another gambling site today that looks to be really interesting. If you are into that sort of thing, you should check out his blog.

I would call myself a casual gambler, so I thought I would give SteemSlotGames a try last week. It isn't anything fancy, but this is the first slot machine style game I have seen, so that makes it interesting to me. It also uses Steem to bet, so that is a bonus too. After depositing about 3 STEEM last week I slowly started betting at a .2 STEEM per "pull" level. Before I knew it I was up to 20 STEEM, so about 17 STEEM in winnings. I pulled out 15 STEEM and left 5 in to play with another time.

This morning, I started playing with that 5 STEEM a little more and before I knew it, I had hit a Mega Win worth about 64 STEEM. I played a little longer going up and down as is usually the case with slot machine games. After a final Big Win, I played down to 70 STEEM and withdrew 65 leaving another 5 to play some other day. I donated 15 STEEM of that to @daan as SBI shares and powered up the remaining 50. I am now less than 500 STEEM away from my goal of reaching Dolphin status by Thanksgiving of this year. I have never felt more confident that my goal is well within reach. Thanks to @daan and a little bit of luck!

Congrats on the new truck and the almost-dolphinhood! :D
We always remember our first cars, dont we? I had several old clunkers, as my grandpa would tow away old cars, and many times they were fixable. Had an old pontiac sunbird that I dearly loved. I had an AMC concord that my dad called 'the Latrine', LOL, since it was white and rather reminiscent of a ceramic toilet... I suppose. :D

I've never owned a brand new car. I may never. They just depreciate too fast. Plus they are just so expensive. It is ridiculous!

So true!! I havent either. The closest I came was when we bought our used trailblazer, about 5 years old, I think. That was the newest car we ever bought. My husband recently asked me if I wanted to trade it in for something newer, and I said NO! Love my reliable car!

New cars nowadays cost more than houses sometimes... its insane!

My sister in law and their family had a trailblazer that they just finally traded in. It was in pretty rough shape though, they drove that thing everywhere! It had to be at least 15 years old. The closest I came was my wifes car. It was two years old and only had 13k miles on it.

Congratulations on the new ride!!! I love trucks because they go forever and ever.

I also hate trucks because they go forever and ever, even after I am tired of it and want another color!

Kidding, but they do have a long life!

Yes. Generally they do. My last one not so much! Thank you!

given it is only three years old with 78000 miles on it

Is that good..., it seems like high mileage for the age and is it a diesel engine?

It is much newer than my current car though.. at 147,000 miles.. and 7 years old. I'm not really a car person anymore.

For a truck, not really. My old truck was a 2007 and I bought it in 2010 with 66000 miles on it. It was just this past year that I hit 150,000 miles. I don't really feel like the engine started running right until it hit 100k. That is of course until the cylinder started misfiring. It isn't a diesel engine. It would have been my preferred choice, but the cost of entry is much higher even for a used diesel. Plus people don't tend to get rid of them once they have them so the market is relatively small.

Pretty nice looking pickup my friend. Except, of course, the Bow Tie instead of the Oval. What can I say? :)

I'm sure you'll be really happy with it.

Looks to me like you are going to beat me to dolphinness (yes, that's a thing) but I should make it by the first of the year. That's a pretty big deal hanging on and pushing back like that.

So a busy weekend. I'm hoping you didn't ignore Jovi's Mother on Mother's Day...

Nope! I went to church and then had dinner with my mom and dad. After that I headed home and spent the evening with @mrsbozz! Unless you go with the high end packages (that I can't afford) I feel like the interior of the GM's are much nicer. I like the look of the Ford's from the outside though! I was open to a Ford if I could find one for the right price that would be comfortable hauling the trailer long distances. The cool thing is according to the VIN lookup, this truck was assembled about 45 minutes down the road from me in Flint!

Congrats on the new addition to your fleet! Getting something new is always fun.

Until the first payment is due! 😄 Thank you!

Good luck finding grocery store parking lots with spaces big enough to park it!

Yeah, I usually just park farther out!

Good plan! It's often the only way.

I think you have done well. The mileage isn't that high really as I do 40 000 Km a year which is about 25 000 Miles so 78 000 for 3 years is decent. It looks great and it is big enough. You just need some bozz number plates now.

In Michigan unlike some other states you have to pay extra for vanity plates. To me it isn't worth it. If we lived I a state where it was free I would totally do it!

Like I said, I think I was just lucky but it is cool because it is the only Steem casino that offers slots right now I think.

you did do very well, but I have given it a go I put 10 Steem into it and played for a while, I took 28 out a little while ago and have it running on my phone while I am editing photos and working on a document for work to see if it gives me any more worth cashing out, sitting on about 50 Steem at the moment
I am not sure this payout rate will keep coming from it so giving it a run tonight to see if I can get a little more out while it seems to be good odds

Nice! I was pretty surprised by how good the odds seem too.

I was on a roll its seems to have slowed down now but will see how it goes this evening I took out almost 3 times what I put in so its a win win for me either way :)
