That question is too general. There are people with real psychiatric problems who find great relief from a controlled use of psychiatric drugs. Anti depressant drugs have helped a lot of people. On the other hand there are doctors who give out drugs like candy and their patients become addicted to powerful narcotics that ruin their lives. I guess the answer to your question is it just depends. Works for some and not for others.
