Read in order to live

You cannot find peace by avoiding life. Death ends a life, not a relationship. Do not read, as children do, to amuse yourself, or like the ambitious, for the purpose of instruction. No, read in order to live. Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has. I wanted a perfect ending. Now I've learned, the hard way, that some poems don't rhyme, and some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next. Where there is love there is life. Life will break you. Nobody can protect you from that, and living alone won't either, for solitude will also break you with its yearning. You have to love. You have to feel. It is the reason you are here on earth.

I always thought every day was a gift, but now I am looking for where to send the note.
