The Living God
Nuggets for today still from the book of Daniel 6: 25-28
We need to remind ourselves that God is the central character of this book.
Daniel is only relevant in so far as he is Gods messenger, helping to further the objectives of his King in a heathen land.
The book of Daniel firmly positions God as the central figure in history. As the Lord over the kings and kingdoms of the world, enthroning and dethroning kings as he pleases and raising up and shattering kingdoms in accordance to his will.
It doesnt matter how much the world has deviated from the ways of God and how resistant the peoples of the world and their rulers are to his Lordship.
And though wars ravage the earth and there is famine and drought in unprecedented proportions, though terrorism and natural disasters are so rampant in our world today, yet our God reigns over and above all these.
It does not matter that many leaders of powerful nations and global institutions are godless men who do not acknowledge God, Yet God rules in spite of them and his purposes will certainly be realized in the world. We serve a living God, therefore, do not be afraid.
Word for Today:
For he is the living God, enduring forever, his kingdom shall never be destroyed, and his dominion shall be to the end v.26
Prayer:
Father, I know that you are a living God and that you own and rule the world, help my heart to be at rest no matter what.
