All I know is that the first users of Steemit, the people who put energy into accumulating as much Steem as possible when the competition was still low, made A LOT of money for their efforts.

I see Voice as another opportunity to be an early adopter of an app by a dev in Dan Larimer who seems to have a good track record of putting out products that quickly rise in valuation. I have no loyalty to Steem or Steemit and why should I?

I took the risk on myself when I decided to invest some of my money into Steem and Steem-Power, no one else in here stepped in to take on that risk for me, nor should they have, as I am solely accountable for my decisions. I made that decision knowing that it in no way obligated anyone to be or act in any fashion other than what suits their own wants and needs.

I don't delude myself with thoughts like "the Steemit community is my family" or any other kind of nonsense like that. My actions here have never been about being a part of a tribe. I don't want to waste my valuable time defending a group of people that I've never personally met and, in 99% of cases, don't even have the slightest of impressions.

"My family" are those who have and are willing to take on part of my risks, even if I take on foolish ones, whom will truly suffer with me, and I much doubt that anyone on here fits that bill. "My family" is the limited time and energy that come with this fragile body that I currently identify with as "myself". "My family" is doing what's logically right for my own well-being, not making emotional/ irrational decisions.

Having loyalty to a mostly anonymous community and/or cryptocurrency protocol (in Steem) are not my ideas of worthy efforts, nor of intelligent choices. The right choice is what puts me in a better position to be strong for my real family and, as far as I'm concerned, that comes with hedging my bet on Steem/ Steemit being a success by putting a counter-bet on Voice.

That's not to say that I've given up on Steem. I'm still convinced that it can be a long-term success story and I don't plan on leaving it just yet. But I certainly don't feel in any way obligated to put all my energy into this platform while there is really no reason to feel such obligation when it really doesn't exist in reality and, more importantly, there is every reason to believe that I might be missing out on something big by stubbornly refusing to invest some time/ energy/ money into this competing protocol.
