Agatu is a Local Government Area of Benue State, Nigeria appoint in 1996. It custom to be the Agatu tract of the old Otukpo separation. The headquarters of the epichorial direction is at Obagaji; it is one of nine sectional government areas in the southern senatorial zonulet which is mainly employed by the Idoma people of Benue State. The resident population are mainly farmers. On 21 Jan 2014, 20 civilians and 5 soldiers were destroy in an Agatu massacresattack by Fulani herdsmen.
