Variety from not diverse
It turns out interesting. Everything consists of atoms. All atoms are similar and have no properties. If atoms are added from atoms, their properties will be different.
Imagine you have a set designer. It consists of cubes. And here you are building a house, a tree, a sun and a river. Will they be anything different, only outwardly. But their properties will be the same.
Why, then, substances composed of atoms can be solid or wet, airy or bright (glows). How do atoms change their properties? Of course, nothing changes and all the atoms are solid and not at all wet or airy. So it seems to us, is given in our sensations. The thing is that compared to the atomic world, our world is very huge. Therefore, we can not even imagine what is happening at the atomic level. When many atoms, which are not distinguishable by us, merge into a substance, for us they are replaced by a liquid or gas or a solid. Only thanks to the combination of atoms in matter, similar to how patterns form a kaleidoscope in a children's toy, substances have such a variety of properties from monotonous constituent parts.
