London - The son of a Thai senator was caught recording a woman's panties at a prominent fashion outlet in England. Pratyayoud Tupchareon is his name. He was found by a security guard at a fashion shop in London, with a long camera lens protruding from his rucksack.

Pratyayoud Tupchareon is the son of Youdtana Tupchareon, a member of the Thai Senate in Bangkok and his mother, Jutipon, a judge.

Tupchareon claims that he was inspired by videos on video sharing sites about up skirting, when someone secretly recorded the inside of a woman's skirt.

"That day at about 2 PM, two Topshop security guards on Oxford Street watched the defendant behave suspiciously. They they observed first was the defendant following a woman around the shop, he looked suspicious because he seemed uninterested in the goods in the shop, said Cronin Demand Prosecutor Ciaran as quoted by the Daily Mail, Thursday (22/3/2018).

"They also observed his interactions with a number of women, as he kept placing his brown backpack on the floor and then lifting it back again."

"He keeps doing that a few times until one of the security guards realizes there's a long camera lens in his bag."

The Thai man was then addressed by the security guard, then the police took the camera and arrested him.

The 27-year-old man also recorded a video of women's underwear outside the shop, according to the facts revealed in court.

"The camera shoots into a skirt that is long above the knee, the victim is not wearing tight pants. The second video from inside the store shows the defendant approaching three women who all wear short skirts and wearing no tights or leggings."

"She managed to record the image of two girls' legs and was about to capture the third woman's underpants," Westminster High Court revealed.

While District Judge Elizabeth Roscoe said, "What the hell did the defendant think? Why did you do it?"

Tupchareon said he was inspired by popular video sharing sites but, "I have neither an account nor a video post."

Judge Elizabeth Roscoe added that the 27-year-old defendant must be legally responsible for his actions.

"It was an outrageous behavior - unpleasant, disrespectful and very offensive."

Since there was no other image on the camera of the defendant, the Thai man also did his actions once, the judge did not throw him into the jail. The Thai man was finally declared spared from prison.

"I think you deserve social punishment," the judge said.

Sanctions and Pending Studies

Despite the jail sentence, the young man had to postpone the start of the graduate program at Westminster University until his trial was completed.

Tupchareon previously studied at Regent's University, a private college at Regent's Park, London whose annual cost starts at 17,000 pounds sterling.

His parents quickly drove from Bangkok to London on March 20 to accompany his son's trial.

For his actions, Tupchareon, who admitted to public disharmony, was then banned from City of Westminster for four months and had to wear a nameplate.

He is also required to be at home between 7 pm and 6 am for 12 weeks. In addition he must pay an additional fee for victims of 85 pounds sterling and other charges of the same amount.

Tupchareon's father, Youdtana is a Railway Affairs Officer in Thailand before serving as Senator in the National Legislative Assembly.
