Midnight rants 10 --- Begin, again.

Change, they say, is the only thing that is constant. As ironical as that sounds, it is basic truth. Sometimes in life, when some of the things that we've come to know and love is taken away, or fails, our humanness doesn't let go that easily. We keep on knocking on that door, and asking questions to understand what happened. And then the feeling of frustration and inadequacy sets. Suddenly, it's as if we were'nt even deservant of the things we had in the first place. At this point, we get stuck. Wanting so badly to go back, but are unable, and then afraid of moving forward. Partly due to the fear of failure, and then partly due to the energy it would require to pick things from the ground up again.

It happens everywhere. I once lost a few grands on a business i did back in freshman year in college. It was quite a lot, and it took a part of my capital and all of the profits. I had leverage though, and i could have easily started again if i wanted to. But what did i do? I cut my losses and banked the rest. A couple of months later, i had spent it all.

This does not only apply to businesses though. Loosing a job or failing at a relationship can be as draining as ever, and these are some of the ideas you'd have: Quit and stay put down because of fear, or brave up and move on.

I suppose that story was too shallow though, but it should teach you a thing or two about giving up too early. What happened to the business? Well, i kinda shared the whole idea with my brother and he seemed pretty excited about it. So he invested some startup fee and today, it's still on and he's doing pretty well. You'd want to learn from that.

Accept changes and the things you cannot change. Get up and begin again.
