In the scriptures, it is connected with burning coals, flame,sparks, ashes, smoke, and kept alive by fuel.
It is characterized as bright, spreading, enlightening, heating, melting, purifying, drying, consuming, and insatiable.
It is figuratively used as a symbol of Gods protection, Gods vengeance, the Holyspirit,the word of God, the tongue, the self righteous, affliction, and judgment.
