One of our latests donators of food waste is a newly open patisserie in town. At the end of the day most patisseries will throw crazy amounts of unsold bread, cakes, sandwiches and salads to make space for new and fresh food the next morning. We have been collecting the unsold food several days a week and distribute them to be shared at our locations. This latest pickup was some kind of record on how much food we were able to fit in one car.

Another interesting aspect is that the food we rescue from the patisserie is of much better quality then food sold at the cheap food stores. Many breads are made of multi grain without preservatives, the salads are fresh with smoked salmon or shrimp and freshly pressed orange juice.
The cakes are not super healthy but a nice bonus.

The rescued food from this pickup was delivered to Cykelköket Gamlestan.
