Introducing Vision 2025

Today I want to introduce the latest Steem-based program called "Vision 2025".

What is Vision 2025?

This is an idea that stems from a post I put up the other day.

At the most basic level, Vision 2025 is a reminder to everyone to look at Steem as a long-term endeavor. It is very easy to get caught up in the FUD or the latest Steemit Inc issue. This causes people to spread fear throughout the ecosystem. We saw it with the Steemit announcement a couple weeks ago. The anger (which is just a masking of fear) is still present. Some people feel betrayed to the point they are acting like it is personal.

The response of the community since then shows how bonded people are here. It also shows the strength and commitment of the community.

Vision 2025 is going to be in keeping with decentralization.

We will have no meetings, especially since most meetings are simply a way for managers to feel better about themselves.

There are going to be no dues although it is preferred that individuals have at least 1 SP in their account. Of course, we will spare execution for those who have less.

I will place the above logo at the bottom of each of my posts. Feel free to use it yourself or create your own.

At some point, we might create a SMT generated token. Or we might not.

We are here to remind everyone that this is a marathon, not a sprint. We are in the very early stages of this industry.

Periodically, we see a number of posts that amount to nothing more than complaining without offering any solution or providing any course of discussion. These posts are ideal to receive the logo in the comment section. Simply post it as a reminder to what Steem is about.

We can be a force of positive. Many feel that having an optimistic viewpoint is not being realistic. People often comment about that. "I am a realist". It is as if they say it with pride. What they are really saying is they have no vision and cannot see anything passed their 5 senses.

Some of the best companies in the world, like Kodak and Blockbuster, were driven right into the ground by the "realists".

Steem requires people with vision. That is what we are looking for. Are you one who can see passed the FUD to grasp what is taking place? Do you see the advancement in spite of the setbacks, which are temporary?

Vision 2025 is the answer to those who utilize the powers of the cosmos to sabotage themselves and everything around them. It is a gentle, or not so gentle, reminder that you are not going to crap in our living room.

To those of you who are in their early 30s, 6 years seems like a long time. Yet ask those who are the other side of 50 and you will get a different perspective. By the middle of the next decade, we are going to see a much different world. And Steem will be a big part of the change.

We can use the #vision2025 for all articles that pertain to the long term success of the Steem blockchain (which means you will have to use another interface other than steemit). I also set up the @vision2025 account.

It is time to start thinking bigger and more long term. There are interesting changes ahead of us and Steem can be a big part of that. It is up to us to ensure we are focus upon what ends we are trying to reach.

If we can drive this point home, it will be a major step forward.
