SingularityNet Beta: Open And About To Change The Face Of AI
One of my favorite projects to watch is SingularityNet even though I am not an investor it in. This is a blockchain based AI system that is meant to decentralize AI and protect us from the technology being in the sole possession of the giants like Google and Microsoft.
The brainchild of Ben Goetzel, it opened up its testnet to the public. This is the second part in a three step process which could be fully online by the end of the month.
SingularityNet seeks to bridge the gap between AI developers and business users. By designing a token, the aim is to create an ecosystem surrounding AI where users are able to get the AI they need while developers are rewarded for their creation. This is another form of "content creation".
For those who are not aware, this organization raised over $30M in a matter a minutes. It was a highly successful ICO in 2017. It also could be one of the most important projects we see.
Personally, I do not fear AI. I am not one with a dystopian outlook. What I do fear is corporations and governments with AI. That could be very dangerous in my opinion.
Being an advocate of decentralization, I promote the idea of freedom and unchaining ourselves from control entities. No where is this more important, potentially, than with AI. We already saw the damage the mega-tech corporations can do when we trust them with this technology.
Launching on an Ethereum Testnet, the project is looking for feedback from users. This is slated to go a couple of weeks before they go fully live.
Many like to knock blockchain and cryptocurrency initiatives as being nothing more than scams and useless endeavors. Here is one example of something that is extremely important. It is easy to forget how enslaved humanity is. Freeing us up is crucial going forward. As more powerful technologies come along, we need to ensure they are not in the hands of those who seek to maintain control.
SingularityNet is such a project. Goetzel does not believe AI belongs in the hands of corporations or governments. They only will use it to either control or kill (or both). That is something humanity needs less of.

Yes, I very much agree with you.
The danger is not AI itself (which can never surpass true human creativity and innovation) but AI in the hands of big corporate and government.
I will investigate this project more.
This is a key reason why the transparency and immutability of blockchain technology is key for the future as it provides accountability which will be a key factor when considering AI and its potential.
