STEEM: Guaranteed SuccesssteemCreated with Sketch.

in #busy6 years ago

There are a lot of posts giving people suggestions of how to make money on the Steem blockchain. Newer people are looking for ways to have success on here.

To start, I must emphasize that whoever is on here now is an early adopter. The world of crypto-economics is just getting started. For this reason, anything one does here now stands a good chance of being very profitable down the road.

So how does one succeed on Steem?

I think all the suggestions out there, while worthwhile and applicable, can complicate the matter. What I mean by that is it overlooks the most basic part of what needs to be done.

Therefore, I will offer up what I consider a guaranteed method to be highly successful on Steem.

What is the key to success: FOCUS UPON CONSISTENTLY GROWING YOUR OWN ACCOUNT!!!!

This might see logical yet so many overlook it.

It is a simple axiom that what we focus upon expands. Hence, if you want your STEEM account to expand, focus attention upon it. Look to do those things that add SP to your wallet. In fact, I would suggest that this is an idea that one should take with all coins. Since we are so early in this industry, amassing as much as one can might be beneficial.

This suggestion can be very difficult to follow. It is easy to get distracted and worry about what other people are doing. This is something that we are conditioned to. We are always comparing, seeing what others are getting.

While you can do that, it is not my experience that will lead to long-term success on here. Focusing upon your own account means that you will be paying your attention to things you can control.

It all starts with adding more to the network than you are taking. This can be a relative situation since quality, input, and contribution will vary. However, those who make a consistent effort over time will see their accounts grow.

Also, by following this approach you increase the chance of "Steem-luck" hitting you.

What is "Steem-luck"?

It is when you are just going about your business and, suddenly, something unexpected happens. For example, those of us who remained consistent through the Hard Fork are experiencing "Steem-luck". The reward pool went through the roof the last few days which means all content creators are pulling in more reward than normal.

We saw it at the end of last year when the price of SBD mooned. They remained elevated for a number of months, thus providing larger payouts than usual.

Another form of "Steem-luck" takes place when your post catches the eye of the right person. Suddenly, a large upvote comes your way. With the system the way it is, posts are basically one big stream, getting the right eyes does entail some luck. However, that luck is the result of consistently placing content.

Of course, the "luck" improves if that larger account starts following you and give consistent upvotes. None of this happens without focusing upon one's account while ignoring a lot of the noise.

Success on Steem requires a lot of effort and putting in time. It is not something that usually happens in a few weeks. There are many with healthy sized accounts who received little to nothing their first couple dozen posts.

My goal with all my utility tokens is to keep accumulating. I focus my attention upon having larger Hodlings at the end of each month as compared to where they started. Some might only go up a few coins but it is still growth. In addition, many of the utility tokens I earn might end up worthless. I have no idea what will be successful or not. This is why I try to spread my actions out.

For example, I started using a search engine called Presearch. This is an interface that is used while the index is being built. Each day I earn 8 PRE coins for doing 32 searches. I am consistent with it while ensuring I get my allotted amount. I am now have thousands of tokens that were accumulated in batches of 8.

To use Presearch, here is my referral link if you want to get involved and earn too. It will provide you with some extra coins for signing up.

Steem is a blessing because the release of the SMT protocol is only going to enhance what we can earn. There are always a number of coins one can get simply by engaging in the application. This will expand.

It all creates a situation of self-serving altruism. Do not read this to mean I am condoning being greedy and just taking. That tends not to work out great for too many. The system is such that one needs to give. This is social media requiring interaction. It takes a following that is willing to support one. This is usually the result of supporting others.

Everyone has something to give. That is the belief behind @surpassinggoogle's ULOGs. Start giving it. That is the key. Ignore the noise while concentrating on growing your account month by month. If you have more at month end than you started with, that is a success.

Do not forget, Steem is an incredible compounding machine. Everything you do builds upon itself which increases one's standing on the blockchain. This tends to mean that STEEM (and other tokens) grow over time.

Everyone who tried this approach, from what I have seen, was successful. This is why I know it will work for anyone who tries it.

Steem is great! The interface probably does scare folks off. Busy.org is kind of plain and that might scare new folks also. @steemit is still new, so maybe it and all the spinoffs will become more aesthetically pleasing.

Speaking of that, is anybody interested in an interface agnostic application for Steem? Could allow for video posts like on DTube, but you'd not have to constantly go to the site to upload a video, images, normal text posts, short posts, like @Zappl, and so on? Or would that confuse the hell out of everyone?

It is always important to focus on what you can control and what action you can do to make it grow. It is not easy but you will be proud of yourself of the progression you made on your own instead to compete with others.

You are right on. I need to get back into it myself. Been out of it for the past few months. Not being consistent and the drop to stagnate crypto prices did not help.

Consistency, yes. Also perseverance and patience, I would say are all good qualities to include.

There are many community centric opportunities in the ecosystem as well. They are communities meant to support content creators on their journey here and coukd provide great insight and support. Curation is also a fun and great way to grow. I have found great content by curating and most pass by my posts for thoughts as well. This is truly a great time to be here as the potential seems endless as the ecosystem expands with great Dapps that interact in interesting ways.

Great advice. My feeling is that the sooner we think of the steem blockchain as our social media platform, which has the bonus of rewarding us, instead of some cash cow then the better things will be.

If it is a cash cow, it is not a quick one.

So I agree, look to it as a place to interact while earning some coins. Over time, those coins will have some value, how much, we will see. But if getting rich quick is the focus, it will only lead to frustration.

Good article friend !. STEEM-luck to you!

steem-luck :D and of course steem-happyness. Like the moment when you find a nice python lib which does the steem-automation shit you ever wanted to code but easier than expected.
