Steem Is Starting To Be RecognizedsteemCreated with Sketch.

in #busy5 years ago

A month ago, Steem DApps were just floating out there, receiving little love from the industry. In that time, we saw things start to shift.

I do not know the following these DApps sites have, but it is good to see how things are changing. It appears that Steem is something most want to add.

It only makes sense since Steem has one of the more activity communities thus far in the blockchain world. While we fret about the numbers being down, the ranking of Steem applications shows they are still more widely used than most of what is out there.

This all started with the State of the DApps and Steem getting listed there. At the moment, Steem is doing very well in the Top 20.

Yesterday, @therealwolf announced that another site added Steem applications to their listings.

The Dapponline.io is another site that ranks blockchain applications. Like all these sites, we have no idea what the criteria they use for the ranking. It seems each has it's own "special sauce". Regardless of that, it is good to see Steem getting more recognition.

It is also great to see the nice @steemhunt banner ads across the top. We are starting to see some of the DApp reaching outside the Steem ecosystem to pull in users. From what I read, Steemhunt is one of the more active application in this area. They also appear to have a large "reader" list based upon the statistics they put out.

We can take a skewed view of things. People look at the ranking of Steem on coinmarketcap and believe it is garbage because it ranks in the 50s. The drop is also something many allude to believing that it is a reflection of what is going on. Steem dropped more than most hence people must view it as worse than all else. Markets often do not align themselves with what is going on.

In the world of blockchain, early stages are determined by the success of marketing. Those blockchains that market get the higher valuations. This means little.

Ultimately, the success is going to depend upon what is being provided to users. The hype can only last so long before people realize there is little taking place.

Without quality products, marketing means little. Marketing garbage is a quick path to the poor house. In this world, the product is the applications people are using. Once you get passed the ability to scale or not, this is what people notice.

Steem, by the rankings on the different DApp sites, is certainly holding it's own. This is the proper recognition and marketing that Steem needs.

Tesla is becoming a globally force in the car industry without doing marketing. Instead, Musk believes if one builds a great product, it will sell itself. Time will tell how valid an approach this is.

The point, however, holds true. Steem can make much more headway by creating tremendous applications that people like. With each update, the apps get a little better. We are seeing more features added to them. This is what users want.

Another interesting aspect to this is that some of these DApp ranking sites are using Steem as part of their marketing mix. @dapp.com is a prime example of this. That teams posts on Steem updating what is going on with their site.

In fact, they had an interest post about the difference between DAU and DIU. That site uses DIU as the main criteria because it better reflects what is taking place. It is well worth a read.

When I think about to all the FUD I heard about Steem, I just have to giggle to myself. Things are moving ahead at a terrific pace with improvement on most fronts. We are seeing an ecosystem that is really starting to thrive.

I am excited to see where we are in another 6 months.

I agree that while price is important, it is not the only metric to measure success. Rapid adoption could change the price in an instant. We need to keep writing and welcoming all new comers. Being inclusive at this point is more important than stressing over market price. Gain more traffic and price will take care of itself

As I am new here on Steem IT (active for about a month), I have to say, I love it! We just need more members here (something to write about on my blog), more activity! I remember the social network called "TSU", where you could earn by creating content, this is pretty much like it! Just different! Upvoted and resteemed!

Just keep reading and commenting. It doesn't take long to grow a community for your profile and then you have a lot more to read and to write. It takes effort but if you enjoy what you are doing here it is well worth it.

I also have the impression that this bear market is forcing the Steem community to come closer together and discuss what needs to de down better in the future. Right now actions speak mpre than words and things are moving here on Steem. Its that crucial time to prepare ourself for the next bull run so that Steem gets recognized for what it is,the tokenization of the internet.

Thank you so much for participating the Partiko Delegation Plan Round 1! We really appreciate your support! As part of the delegation benefits, we just gave you a 3.00% upvote! Together, let’s change the world!

All the effort the community have been doing on promoting it will show some results this year 😉 all the Dapps out there just need to step up with us and all of them need to come out with a direct signup on the dapps/site 😉 I think that's what we need right now to get more people joining. And the HardFork 20 is already way behind us so I think all dapps need us to push them to come out with that update AS FAST AS POSSIBLE.

I would agree the sign up process needs to kick in high gear. Outside of Steem signing people up, there seems to be little headway on that front by the applications. I dont think they were able to break the code yet.

@blocktrades is signing people up for a dollar I hear. That could be of great help.

Yeah and also now I have heard something about this Steem ninja project that makes it easier to create an account. But still for users that is not easy. Imagine I want to create an Instagram account and they send me to create an account on the Facebook page and only that way I could access to Instagram! That confuse and scare away people. Specially the ones that are totally new to decentralised and crypto. But for sure a lot of them search for stuff like: make money posting photos and stuff like that... They might find one of the many dapps already on the Steem network but get support frustrated and overwhelmed with the signup process.

Top 50 is still within the top 3-5% of all assets out there given the proliferation of tokens seen over the last two years. The focus for development and opportunity will stay within these Elite groups of projects and as prices stabilize eventually, attention will be given to those with these sustainable ecosystems despite the FUD.
