Barracks Cafe

Before we left Cameron Highlands, we had our last meal at Barracks Cafe located in Tanah Rata. It's a very cute military base theme with an outdoor garden. We chose to sit outdoors as it was very cooling and we wanted to have our tea in the garden.

The original scone was delicious, it had a slight crumbly buttery texture. The orange and cranberry scone was really fragrant. It had a fruity orange flavour with yummy bits of cranberries. They were both served with an awesome homemade strawberry jam and clotted cream. That is I assumed it's clotted cream because it doesn't look like whipped cream. The mushroom soup was warm and tasty. It had quite a lot of mushroom in it making it more fulfilling. I had a passion fruit mint mojito which I absolutely loved, the combination of the carbonated fizz with the sweet citrus flavour was refreshing.

Sitting in the garden while having our meal was fun. I felt really nice to enjoy the cold weather while having our meal. Back down in the city you can rarely have a meal in a cooling weather surrounded by plants with a bountiful of fresh air. The roses around me was such a sight to see. I have never seen multicolored roses in real life before. They even have a little herb farm with a sneaky mushroom growing at the side. I'm really glad we had chosen this place for our last meal in Cameron, it kind of completed our whole trip.
