RE: Thoughts on Not Living in Canada and Voting there with Scenery of North Eastern Ontario

To be fair to your countrymen I think the media works hard to paint everyone who disagrees with their narrative as racist morons. Sure it may describe some of them quite well and it's pretty easy to find morons to prove it. However, I've never found that to be the case. A lot of people just roll their eyes and keep quiet when these talking heads come around.

Certainly @abitcoinskeptic ...

"To be fair to your countrymen I think the media works hard to paint everyone who disagrees with their narrative as racist morons."

... the media in too much of our world (a much bigger problem than just in America alone) today seem to have lost any objective standards by which they carry out the responsibilities of their uhhh ... "craft." To bring the facts out "into the light" ...

Instead of "reporting" the facts, they seem far more interested in "manufacturing" the facts ... Or, at a minimum, "elevating" (enhancing even, as needed ...) the facts they deem helpful in reaching their objectives, while "suppressing" those they don't ...

My concern is based on how many of "we the people" can this be accurately stated ...

"A lot of people just roll their eyes and keep quiet when these talking heads come around."

... based upon a fundamental outcome of exercising our civic responsibilities (in a "free" society ...). Who do we elect to exercise power over us? And what do they represent? Based upon what they do, rather than upon what they say?

For this "old warhorse," the answers to these questions are the basis of my reference to having a "genuine concern."
