The new definition of "legalization" bears nothing in common with the old (or ANY) definition of "decriminalization", yeah.
Nobody voted for Trudeau thinking it would be decrim, but they were hoping he wasn't going to monopolize the industry and hand all the power and money to his friends, ex-cops, ex-judges who put cannabis users in prison, and so on. (Those cannabis users will STAY in prison after "legalization", too.... amnesty was supposed to be involved but has since been reneged.)

In hind sight, it seems Mulcair had that right at least. 😎

In hind sight, the grass is always greener on the other side! If we'd gone with NDP would they have kept their promises? If not, would we be having this conversation about Trudeau instead? I think it's mostly all rigged. I don't think we're going to vote our way to freedom like we did in centuries past.
