Robbery fell by 19%!
Murder fell by 10%!
Murders related to the drug trade dropped 41%!!
Who in their right mind can oppose legalisation of cannabis worldwide considering the facts of life? Deaths attributed to medicinal cannabis. Still 0 - ZERO. "The war on drugs" - Millions?
On a "side note":
Here in Sweden all consumption of cannabis is an "addiction" by draconian law and punishable with forced treatment for the "addict". All consumption of cannabis in Sweden is simultaneously a crime punishable with six months imprisonment. All suspected users of cannabis in Sweden is forced by Police to undertake a urine sample or a blood sample.
Grounds for suspicion of consumption and arrest in Sweden is internet activity like mine with this blog-post. No joke.
This post alone is enough to get me arrested as I step out of my office after work today and it could result in that a hefty find or prison sentence will come my way.
"If" it turns out that I have partaken in digesting the herb.

That is the general Swedish population opinion in this matter.
"Jokes" aside the cognitive dissonance is very real in Sweden when it comes to Cannabis. Because however tragicomic the situation is at the moment "when ignorance is bliss" (i suppose) things are actually getting much better faster. Much thanks to the power of factual information not being able to hide or shy away from most people that are online, and in the long run even offline.
Medicinal cannabis is being prescribed by a few doctors to a few patients however to a very high cost as the patient have to ask permission from the Swedish "läkemedelsverket" (like the FDA in USA one could say) to import medicinal cannabis from Holland/The Netherlands.
We are in that sense gaining a general acceptance in the medicinal area of cannabis. For obvious reason such as doctors prescribe medicine, not politicians or "opinionated haters".
Are You Swedish? Or can your read Swedish? No need to answer if to personal off course! I was just spontaneously thinking I could post some Swedish news and facts regarding the situation surrounding the legislation and stigmatisation on the matter at hand. Or I could just translate some Swedish news about cannabis to tickle truth-hunters fancy.
This picture is from my own Liberal party in Swedens campaign in the late 1980´s as they made konsumtion illegal and all consumption prohibited and an addiction by law. Literally says that:
"It shall be forbidden to do "dope" in Sweden", and it stuck. Meanwhile the government holds a monopoly on alcohol.. Mmmm.... Socialism kills... (couldn't help myself bashing the socialists, because it does.)
Ah, thank for such a detailed reply. I am an American myself, and just find it interesting the inner workings of other nations. It is tragic of the monopolization of alcohol . . .
