Telos Improvement Proposals

Talos Foundation has a repository on github where you can take a look at all improvement proposals that are currently in discusion, declined or adopted. You can even make your own proposal and submit it like a did. You just have to follow a simple template to formally expres the proposal in a standar way that everybody is already familiar with.

However, you should do some homework first and read all the previous proposals to avoid the same mistake that I made. It turned out that I was repeating someone else proposal (#3) that even got an extension proposal (#9) being accepted and I'm going to explain below.

TIP #3 - Snapshot on chain

Number #3 proposes to create a contract called tlos.snapshots in which to maintain in memory the snapshot as a source of truth for every token to perform its airdrop in a logical manner, instead of having to actually store the final airdrop balance of every account. If any balance is asked over this kind of tokens, the balance obtained is calculated based on the snapshot rather than being a value stored in RAM (like regulars airdrops on EOS are made). When the user modifies its balance for the first time is when the real RAM data storage take place charging the user for the costs and not the dapp developer.

In fact it proposes to take new snapshots periodically and keep more than one copy abailable at the same time. It would be a sort of small queue of snapshots waiting to expire before a new one enters the same queue. This way any dApp can have a large window of time in which users can claim their airdroip tokens (which balance calculation depends on the snapshot). After every snapshot expires, every token airdrop depending on that snapshot will be finished and no more tokens can be claimed from this token airdrop.

Furthermore the proposal includes to sigly modify the eosio.token so anyone can "create" a new Token and its balance tables be allocated in the same eosio.token contract. This would save a lot of RAM for developpers who won't need to allocate their oun copy of the token.

TIP #9 - Original TLOS Snapshot

Proposal number #9 talks about a specific date to take the first TLOS snapshot and keepit in memory to serve the purpuses of proposal #3 on the snapshot solution. This proposal intent to reward truly TELOS adopters instead of EOS early token investors, including members of the Community Rewards Program (like me) who are engaging with the world to raise the Telos profile.

As you may know I'm a one man army and i don't have enough resources to assume the costs of everything. Telos bring lots of benefits to the eosio developers and this two proposals are part of it.

That's why CNT token airdrop will be performed over Telos network once the new original TLOS snapshot take place at block 6M (29 days after launch).
