Lotus Carlton.

Today I have this Lotus Carlton to show you from the all British day in Brisbane Australia.

This car you see here is one of only two of these to ever come to Australia as they were never sold here when new. Based on the Vauxhall Carlton GSI Lotus re engineered the car to make at the time in 1990 the fastest sedan in the world. Lotus officially quoted Carlton’s top speed as 283km/h with a 0-100 time of 5.2secs. The truth however, was more impressive with independent tests making 300km/h and under 5.0sec 0-100 times. These have a straight six cylinder petrol engine of 3.6 l fitted with twin turbo chargers making 281kW at 5200rpm and 568Nm at 4200rpm. weighing it at 1655 kg. Only 950 cars were made.
