BMW: electric SUV coming soon

BMW has already confirmed that the X3 will be offered in electric in the near future. But according to our colleagues at Autoexpress, the brand would already have much bigger visions for a new range iX, which would go from X1 to X7. The Munich firm would count indeed integrate the catalog, eventually, an electric version of all its SUV.

The SUV has taken a very important part over the years at BMW. After the classics X3 and X5, there was the X1 and especially the controversial X6, which is today the commercial success that we know, and the brand did not stop there since it plugged the holes with the X2 and X4, which will soon be joined by the X7.

In short, from 1 to 7, there is something for everyone, and soon, BMW will offer the X3, its very first SUV, in electric. An offer that will integrate the 'i' range of battery vehicles at BMW, but according to our English colleagues, the Munich firm could go further.

This novelty, which would take the name of iX3, would not be alone in the future. BMW has filed all iX names from 1 to 9, to secure the appellations. This does not necessarily mean that there will be all these SUVs one day, but it's a safe bet to have at least X5 / X6 and maybe X4, which is a derivative of X3, in electric.
