Halloween Approaches — Keep Your Black Cats INSIDE
Happy Halloween people and felines of Steemit!
Halloween is typically a time of fun and celebration, but not always so if you happen to be a black cat. So here's Curator Cat (wearing my most sincere look!) with a "public service announcement:"
There ARE still some sick and twisted individuals in the world who believe black cats are "evil" or "bad luck," or — worse still — try to catch black cats to use them in cruel rituals and sacrifices.
So if you have a black cat, please keep it indoors for a few days, even if it is used to roaming the neighborhood!
I'm fortunate to have a good and loving home, and my Hoomans would not let harm come to me... but not all cats are so fortunate.
I am glad that many animal shelters no longer will adopt out black cats during the month of October... for the cats' safety.
Now, everybody go out there and have a lovely — but safe — Halloween!
So sad @curatorcat, you stay inside where it's safe.... Just like my baby Mountain Lion.... he sleeps at the foot of my bed! :)

Black Kittens Matter!!! We live out in the woods on a mountain so all our black kitties will be safe. Our 4 black kitties I post pictures of are indoors anyways.
The real truth is black cats are good luck. At least according to the Irish.
I tend to agree that black cats are good luck! Glad to hear your kitties are safe; there are some really sick individuals out there.

SICK AND TWISTED are the right words! I don't know how people could be so stupid. All you have to do is say sick and twisted people are bad luck and then they can dispose of themselves.😁
I wish we didn't have to worry about such things, but sadly we DO. Good suggestion, though!

This is so sad but true. I volunteer at an animal rescue charity and we get so many cases of abuse and cruelty towards animals. As a rule, we avoid giving out for adoption black cats during this time. Please keep your cats safe on halloween! Thank you for this reminder!
