LIGHT'S ON.......BUT NO ONE IS AT HOME!

This is Cot. He looks like no one is in there! Cats spend about 16-20 hours a day sleeping. They sleep almost two thirds of their life!

They don't sleep in the same way we do though. They often 'snooze' enabling them to get the rest they need, but they are alert enough to move in a moment's notice. When snoozing, their ears will move back and forth seeking out the source of sound they are hearing. Their eyes are also slightly opened-like they are zoned out.
They do need deep sleep and if they are in this mode, their eyes are tightly shut. You might see them with their tail covering their face or their paws shutting out the world over their face as well. You might see their whiskers move or paws move indicating they are dreaming.

I never get tired of watching Cot, for so much can be discovered about him by his personality quirks and his behavior. Have you ever wondered what type of personality or traits a Cougar might have? Observe your domesticated cat and then amplify that behavior by 1000! Scary, huh?
