Cats are known to be vocal creatures that will make their needs known through certain forms of communication. When getting to know a cat in its early stages of development there are many sounds that will indicate certain emotions or messages.

Understanding these calls is an effective way to keep an eye on certain needs and in some cases may prompt investigation for the audible meows, growls and purrs. One of the most common sounds that most cats will make is the extended purring that can be heard a different volumes depending on the cat. Purring is often associated with a sign of contentment and many owners will notice that their cat will begin to purr continuously as they show a sign of affection.
