The Turkish Van is a bright white cat with a fluffy coat. There are distinct markings around its tail and ears, in some cases there are markings around the top of its head, these can appear to be brown/golden in colour. There are a few variations within the breed itself and the two main colours that a Turkish Van will assume are the white/auburn and the cream/white variation. These are a great mix of colours and make for a very delicate presence of the Van. These cats are quite muscular and will appear strong in stature as they carry themselves with elegance and pride. Todays standard of show cat is very competitive but the Turkish Van is among some of the most prestigious cats in the world. They have found great presence and success in the cat world, particularly in the United Kingdom. There is some history behind how the cats came to take residence overseas and it was actually known simply as the Turkish cat for a while until a later name change.
