Just Like Herding Cats! (Fun with Photography...)
Sometimes there just isn't a Curator Cat post... simply because of the challenges that come with getting decent shots in a multi-pet household.
As some of you are well aware, it can be challenging.
Today was one of those days where pretty much nothing went according to plan. Or intention. Or whatever...
The idea was to get a few shots of Curator Cat — aka "Shadow" — playing with his wadded up paper balls; pretty much his favorite toy.
Interested enough... but not too sure what's going on here...
A few tosses of the paper... then, of course, the dog shows up, and there's suddenly dog butt in two-thirds of the shots.
Tossing something? Daisy wants in on the action...
Of course, as soon as Daisy is interested in something, Shadow loses all interest and just lies down on the couch...
Let's just watch the dog, instead...
This soon leads to just extreme close-ups of various parts of the cat...
Cat eyeball, anyone?
Finally, Curator Cat gives chase to one of the paper wads... and — in the spirit of cooperation, returns with... absolutely nothing.
You think you can make me do something YOU want me to do? Silly Hooman!
Of course, sometimes he's just gone so fast there's little more than a ghost image....
Yes, the cat is faster than the camera. In fact, the cat moves faster than the speed of light... here's proof...
All we were hoping for was to get a few sharp shots of Shadow carrying around his paper wads like prey, basically playing "fetch." An hour later, this fuzzy shot was our best effort.
Some thing are just not meant to work out...
You think you can actually capture THIS, on film??? Hah!

I have taken SO MANY blurkitty photos, I feel this post on a personal level, lol. And sometimes a judging session goes like your fetch session!

Ah yes, the fine and not-so-elusive Blur Kitteh! We have scrapped thousands and thousands of cat photos that were basically "ghosts.*

Hard enough to get descent pictures of a black cat, let alone a black cat doing tricks :-)
Yeah, black cats definitely present some special challenges... tricks notwithstanding.

Aww!!! Oh I can relate... The amount of blurry pictures is usually higher than the amount of almost sharp and sharp pictures. Especially when trying to take pictures of the cats doing anything other than ja lying or sitting still :-D
But I love to close uo and the picture of Shadow carrying his paper toy. It's adorable!

Yes, it's the "action shots" that are super difficult. And it's particularly difficult with black cats... as I am sure you know!

I tried to make a photo of our cat with a ball in her mouth and alas I could not.
That ghost image is so funny. I can say that cats are also like stealth. Sometimes Furry just appeared from nowhere very quietly.
Cats are extremely stealthy, yes! And because they are so curious, they seldom stay in one spot for more than a few seconds... makes picture taking quite tricky.
