Howdy redheadpei! I like the cats too. lol. And the Bluejays that come for breakfast. Where do you guys store your firewood, just against the house?

Good evening Cowboy. Hope you had a good Sunday.
About the wood...Hubs has a building behind the house where the seasoned wood for the winter is stored out of the elements. From there he brings enough in the garage (attached to house) for about a week at a time. Close enough it can be brought to the fireplace when needed.

Oh very good, thanks redheadpei! And you guys buy it ready to burn or does it need to dry out in the other building for awhile?

It’s kind of a hit and miss. Usually it is pretty dry when ordered but gets better for burning after a few months more. Buy in spring and by wintertime it is good for burning. It you burn wood while green it smokes and doesn’t give off the heat.
Probably the tree you cut down would be good in a year for burning.

Howdy redheadpei! That's what I've heard too, about the time to dry out. Well you guys have a good system.
