One Oasis Cebu | Paradise Hidden Within Cebu City's Concrete Jungle
Hi there Steemian! Are you looking for an affordable getaway in Cebu? Today, I would like to share with you a paradise hidden in plain sight of Cebu City. A paradise that is practically right in the area where we study or work yet never heard of. A paradise that deserves so much more attention than it garners and today I hope I can provide positive insights to this place when you finish reading this post. This place is offered in Airbnb for less than PHP 1000 ($19), and having lived here for the past four months, I highly recommend it for a weekend getaway with your friends of family. What If you don't want to check in and prefer to just spend the afternoon here? Yes, you can do that too! I'll explain how below!
If your live in Cebu City, you don't need to travel endless hours or spend too much money on transpo. All you need is a 15 to 20 minute ride, bring food, drinks, people close to you and you're set to have an awesome time. Interested? Let's dig deeper.
I. What is One Oasis Cebu?
One Oasis Cebu is a resort inspired condominium with a touch of Asian-Balinese architecture meant to captivate your eyes and unwind your soul. Developed by Filinvest Inc, this project is a high quality community meant to serve its clients which are mostly Filipinos.
It features a great array of amenities that is enjoyable for everyone of all ages. It has 3 types of swimming pools which I will explain later, a children's play area, a shaded basketball court and its own wellness hub.
II. What is inside of One Oasis Cebu?
Now that you have an idea of what One Oasis is, let's go for a tour shall we?
Looking from the outside, you can already tell this is going to be a great place. I just love the architecture and landscape from the get go! As someone who grinds day in and day out in the office, it's always great to see a distinct scenery from the concrete jungle. Let's see what's inside!

I remember the first time visiting this place. It was filled with so much lush, green landscapes. The vibration of mother nature fits perfectly with the character of this community that the view alone made me feel I was transported from Cebu City to a resort far far away.
Ahh, yes here we are. The central amenities that provide leisure and promote physical fitness for anyone who lives and visits the place. They call this area the "central amenities" since they are building another set of amenities within the compound that will cater to more tenants, guests soon.
This is your clubhouse. With a picturesque view of the pool, playground and basketball court and surrounded with the refreshing ambiance of green landscape, the clubhouse is a great place to de-stress and have your state of repose with the wide, spacious, comfortable sofas and sun loungers that are now provided for you.
Above the clubhouse is a function hall that is good enough to host 100 guests. Great place and view to reserve for your birthday, company events, and other important activities you want. I always love it when people hold events here as I can enjoy the music provided by the acoustic band when I sit by the pool.
Do you like swimming? I know I do, it's a great way to exercise and loosen up after a busy week! One Oasis provides an array of pools everyone's preference. The top left pool is my son's favorite. Only 2 feet deep, he can walk, swim, and play with his toys without the dread of dropping them. Although this pool is shallow, adult supervision is required at all times when children are swimming OF COURSE! The top right pool is 4-5 ft deep and is great for spending leisure time with your friends and family. The one in the bottom is as long as an Olympic size pool so if you want to practice swimming for an upcoming competition, this pool is a great place to start.
What resort inspired retreat is complete without a play area for the young ones? With a variety to play with, your kids can spend hours and hours playing with other children here. Can adults play too? I can't count the number of times I have slid down the slides or played with the see-saw at the request of my son, of course. Children will always want to play with their parents.
A healthy mind lives in a healthy body.
Unlike other condominiums, One Oasis' wellness hub includes well-maintained tread mills and state of the art stationary bikes along with weights and other machines. At this point, i must say it's impressive how they are able to maintain their gym equipment as you won't see even a single non-usable machine lying around.
Philippines is a basketball crazy country and that includes Cebu City. One Oasis caters to that niche by providing a shaded rubberized basketball court with a ISO standard fiberglass backboard. Need I say more? The condominium put a lot of effort into the court and its shade. As players, we only need to bring out the best in ourselves as we step into this court.
III. Where is One Oasis?
How do you get there? Since One Oasis Cebu is situated in the center of Cebu City so you have plenty of options. If you are more comfortable in simply hailing a taxi cab and you are coming from SM City Cebu or Ayala Cebu, a taxi ride will cost you somewhere between 50 PHP to 70 PHP depending on the traffic. If you are travelling alone and would like to avoid traffic, "Angkas" will give you a much quicker ride during the weekdays.
If you would like to use the traditional jeepneys though, the best route you can take is 03A as this goes right in front of Sarrosa hotel. Once you reach Sarrosa hotel, you have two options reaching your final destination. You can either walk five to ten minutes or you will find motorcycles for hire that charge for a ride to One Oasis. Foreigners often choose to walk over taking motorcycles but if you choose the latter, choose motorcycles whose drivers wear the yellow and black long sleeves uniform with a number on their back. These uniforms indicate that they are registered in the barangay so it is easier to find them if you lose an item while riding or if you have other concerns you would like to raise to the barangay hall itself.
IV. Is it available for day use?
Well, the good news is yes! One Oasis welcomes everyone who wishes to use their facilities and the rates are really low too. To use the swimming facilities, they charge only PHP 100($1.92)/person. If you want to use the basketball gym, it's only PHP 225($ 4.32) per hour during the day and PHP 450($ 8.65) per hour during the night. The only requirement the administration demands for is permission from a unit owner or tenant.
