São João - Porto today!!!

Today is the 23rd of June, so in Porto - Portugal we celebrate S. João, the biggest busiest celebration in my city, the whole margin by the river is packed with crowds that seem to have no end, corner salemen everywhere selling from beer to sardines, all this culminating at midnight with the fireworks above river Douro, people go from one part of town to the other while people hammer each other on the head with plastic hammers and alho porro, stages with concerts and shows everywhere! Indeed it's one of the most enjoyable days to visit Porto and witness for yourselves how busy and jolly Porto becomes!

For all ages and genders, everyone enjoys the lovely mood that sets tonight!

Ps: Although they have announced today they are banning the fire baloons I'm positive many will still fly and although it's a fire hazard it's an old tradition so if the sky is as in previous years ill try and get some pictures!
