Currently the 5th tallest completed building in the United States of America and the 28th tallest building in the world, the Empire State Building is a structural piece of art. This Art Deco skyscraper named after New York(Empire State) is a magnificent 102 storey building with a roof height of 1,250 feet (580m) which stands a total of 1,454 feet (443.2m) tall, including its antenna.
The Empire State Building was the tallest building in the world from 1931 to 1970 . This masterpiece is located in midtown Manhattan, New York and serves as an office building and observation deck. The Empire State Building was open on May 1, 1931 and the estimated cost of construction is $40,948,900. The original design of the Empire State Building was for a 50-storey office building. After 15 revisions, the final design was for a 86-storey building with an airship mast on top. Construction of the building was at the rate of one floor per day.
The Empire State Building is owned by the Empire State Realty Trust. The building is an American cultural icon that has been featured in more than 250 TV shows and movies since King Kong in 1933.
The tower has been named as one of the seven wonders of the world by the American Society of Civil Engineers.
