Old Headstones
I'm continuing my cemetery series with another entry. @melinda010100, here I am, finally! :)
These photos were taken at the reformed christian cemetery in Marosvásárhely, (Targu Mures), Romania. These headstones gathered along the wooden wall of the chapel, are gathered from the cemetery and date back to the 17th century. Some are from 1627, 1634, 1648 etc.
Next to the wooden chapel, there is this other place with very old headstones. These are also gathered here because I guess the people buried once under these stones have no descendants. Half a century is a long time, it's a miracle they still exist, after all this town went through.
The writing on the first headstone is in Latin, the others are in Hungarian. The second headstone dates back to MDCCC, which means 1800 and was set for a father by his three children and it's written in a really old Hungarian language.
The first headstone on the left is set for a man who died in 1821, by his wife. A sad poem is written on the stone, the wife mourns her husband. The second next to it is set for husband and whre, who died in 1892 and 1894. The small one on the right dates back to 1848.
It's interesting to see these old headstones and to read those writings, especially because that old language does not exists any more.

I knew you would like it :) I have to go to another cemetery to see what's there. It is a catholic one. I've never been to that cemetery.

Quite peaceful. Such a collection of shapes and sizes but with one purpose.
Remembrance. We cannot remember the individual but should not forget our history. Here, the headstones even remind us of a lost language.

Anyway what language is that? Maybe rovasiras? Because it start to be popular in hungary. More and more people learn it again😉

Latin language so italian. Really old hungarian also we use it😁 sorry today i am in funny mood. Maybe i should sleep a lil bit already 1am again and i am still online🙄
Ok i just search it lil bit. Yes that is really dead language. Hmmmm i didnt know it. But for now i think time to sleep. But in the next few days if i dont forget i have to talk with u. I will need your oppinion. 😉
